Ayoa (formerly iMindMap)
Ayoa (previously known as iMindMap) is an online whiteboard app that combines mind mapping, task management and team collaboration features that have been designed to support neurodiverse individuals.
Overview
Ayoa is the flexible online whiteboard software that enables users to brainstorm ideas, work together and get things done. It has been designed to guide users through every stage of the creative process, from generating ideas to seeing them through to completion – whether they choose to work alone or with a team.
With its colourful and highly visual interface, Ayoa is the perfect study tool for students and young people with neurological differences (such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and autism) to organise and add structure to their work and break down information so that it’s easier to digest, as well as keep track of their deadlines and everything they need to do.
Ayoa incorporates a range of neurodiversity-friendly features, including:
- The ability to change the background colour of mind maps and task boards.
- The option to export Ayoa mind maps as Word Documents, PDFs and images to help users plan and add structure to written work (such as essays and reports).
- Speed keys (accessed via your keyboard) for those that struggle with coordination
- An idea bank to make a note of ideas to be used later.
- A visual progress bar to enable users to see at a glance how much of each task has been completed without the need for text.
- A personal planner that enables users to organize their tasks by Now, Next and Soon (inspired by the Pictorial Exchange Communication System).
Features such as project management capabilities, built-in video chat and presenting tools also make it a great solution for tutors and teachers – particularly when teaching remotely.
