Essex Dance Theatre offers a series of movement classes for students with special needs. The special needs sessions are run by a qualified dance tutor with a team of trained Essex Dance Theatre students working alongside. The classes are on Friday between 6pm and 7pm and parents are welcome to stay. Where possible, and if appropriate, students with special needs will be encouraged to join in the main Essex Dance Theatre timetable of classes, along with their student teacher helper. Classes are held at the Essex Dance Theatre Centre in Great Baddow, Chelmsford. The studio has sprung floors, mirrored walls and fixed bars and is wheelchair accessible. A qualified and experienced teacher is also available to visit, with or without soundbeam, for tailor-made workshops for specific special needs groups.
